Ratemeter PM1701M is highly sensitive gamma detector which is designed for detection and localization of radioactive sources.

PM1701M is recommended to use in hard to reach places, harsh environments and various adverse conditions. The device can be used at scrap metal facilities, nuclear waste disposal and storage sites, vehicular and cargo customs checkpoints etc.

Ratemeter PM1701M is designed to detect and localize radioactive sources by their gamma radiation. The instrument continuously monitors radiation environment and compares to normal background.

 PM1701M is supplied with the telescopic tube and headphones for users` convenience. When the threshold is exceeded, the user will hear an audible signal through the headphones. The rate of audible and light signals increases as the device moves closer to a radiation source.

PM1701M is able to locate radioactive sources in the changing radiation background. The device is able to detect radiation sources in cases of decreased and increased levels of background. (Decreased due to radiation shielding; increased when the source is hidden in the mass of naturally occurring radioactive material (potassium fertilizers or ceramics)).
